You see CEOs and people in high-ranking positions wear these colors almost all the time. On the other hand, red is sexy, but the color also means confidence or boldness at work too. Take a look at the colors of your wardrobe and assess what you are trying to say in the colors that you wear.  If you have too much of one color, maybe its time to brand out! 2. Dress  according to the weather condition. Of course you want to be fashionable  whether it is raining, it is snowing, or even when it is very hot. When you’re running out of ideas on what to wear to work, first look out your window and check the weather. Is it gloomy? Is it bright and sunny? Whats the weather forecast?  This may seem really obvious but if you use it consistently, it will help you decrease the amount of choices of what to wear and youll actually be ready faster with less choices. 3. Using Twitter to Recruit Direct Messages for All Are you one of the people using the 11th most surfed site in the world? Are you using it to recruit? How do you find the speed, volume of content and noise of the community? How accessible has it made you? Are you an average user spending 9:28 minutes per day on it, looking at, on average, 6 pages per session? Were you one of those happy recruiters who in 2011 started to notice that people were applying to 3 x more of the roles you advertised on Twitter than LinkedIn? (For reference, LinkedIners spend less time on LinkedIn 7:40mins but look at more (8.64) pages â€" speedily connecting with recruiters before getting spotted by their bosses?) 29.1% of US citizens use it and 4.7% of UK residents use it (more stats on this can be found at Alexa.com). Twitter, bless it, has changed shape and scope since being born â€" its history is pretty compelling (and short!): Twitter Sceptics: But still the recruitment world is a little sceptical about how Twitter can be used for recruitment I rarely come across a recruiter with a tangible goal for Twitter. But in the very least Twitter can: Source talent Find clients Communicate (listen and speak) Source leads Demonstrate your specialism Give you a voice Expand their brain And now Twitter has made my job of getting recruiters giddy about Twitter a little easier: DIRECT MESSAGES FOR ALL!   (see the new option in your Settings). Now this could be a bit of a poisoned chalice.   The idea of a DM (a direct message) on Twitter was to give users private messaging capability. For a while you could only send DMs to someone if you were both following each other. Then Twitter updated to allow people to DM you if you were following them, and now you can setup your profile to receive DMs from anyone! From a recruitment perspective: Now that you can receive messages from people even if they are not following you, the massive benefit to clients and candidates is that they can reach out to you under the radar â€" totally invisible to their own network which is pretty crucial if you are a recruiter of permanent staff (or a recruiter wanting to do your own internal recruitment?) So some things to check off: Get your profile ready to be found â€" I still find recruiters with either no URL to give me more info on them, or worse, one that doesn’t work! Get some key words in your bio that help talent and clients find you. Candidates and clients will want to reach out to recruiters in a zone they are comfortable in â€" 600 million users feel comfortable in Twitter (as opposed to 238million in LinkedIn) so widen you opportunity to get found and have a private chat with your ideal network. Think about having the same photo on your LinkedIn and Twitter profiles â€" personal branding is really important (or at least make yourself recognisable in both photos). If you have an Internal Recruitment Strategy and are using social media, make it evident on your social profiles that you accept DMs from great recruiters who want to chat. They need to build connections, relationships, and add value.How can Job seekers get the most out of LinkedIn?Jobseekers at a minimum should have an optimized LinkedIn profile to help them show up 40x more in search results. I always tell people LinkedIn is a search engine.Just like on Yelp, if you’re typing in best Italian restaurant in your radius search, you’ll get over 300 results, but you’ll only click on the first page!LinkedIn functions the same way. If I’m looking for your skills in my area, are you making sure you’re showing up as page 1 and conveyin g what you can do? LinkedIn rewards people with complete profiles and have strong messaging!Also important is for job seekers to demonstrate their thought leadership. How can you showcase you’re really passionate about something vs. just saying you are. Job seekers can leverage this social media platform and get social by sharing value and connecting with others.Unemployment is at the lowest levels, why do you think that is? We are definitely in a thriving economy. As companies continue to boost revenue and sales, they are looking for top candidates who can keep up with the scalability. New positions are opening up to keep up with demand and to help companies be competitive.Every growing company has a desire to find the best candidates to solve their skills gaps. Even as technology advances, there are many positions that will never be replaced by AI or automation. It’s important to build skills that cannot be outsourced or replaced.What is the biggest trend(s) you see that job s eekers will face in the next 2-3 years? I believe job seekers will be facing even more advanced screening systems online. Resumes may not even be read as technology perfect picking out the best matches.I believe job seekers must also get used to video interviewing as a pre-screening tool. Many companies are already implementing this and I can only see it growing more popular.I also believe job seekers need to control their online portfolio and brand as social media recruiting grows.Finally, I believe online portfolios will become the norm. If you’re up against another candidate who shows they’ve gone the extra mile, why would your dream company pick you over them?What is one advice you would give someone just out of college today? Hire a career coach.Unfortunately, a lot of university’s career centers are just not cutting it. They aren’t helping students identify what their calling is and helping them map out the short-term and long-term possibilities that align with their v alues. They help them craft a resume, but really, that is not the needle mover in landing dream jobs.What is one advice you would give someone who is switching careers?Try it on before you commit to it. Something might look or sound nice but until you’re actually in it, you might not know if you love or hate it. It’s just like online shopping â€" sometimes those pair of jeans look perfect until they arrive at your front door and you realize you can’t breathe in them.Get hands on experience before you decide to invest significant time, energy, and effort into making a career transition happen.What is the biggest trend(s) you see that hiring managers will face in the next 2-3 years?Hiring manager are always looking to hire the best of the best. I believe hiring managers will need to start making recruitment a part of their job description.
